Feline Creative Intelligence

I happened on a copy of this book today. It seems as though we have been taking our furry feline friends for granted. The practice of cat dancing is apparently experiencing a massive resurgence and it teaches humans how to channel feline energy. Its hard to gather if this activity is more enjoyable for the cats or their owners. Overall this is a pretty bizarre yet entertaining peek into a world i was never aware of.

A Ghost?!

I've heard stories that the Jefferson Hotel, in Richmond, VA is haunted. So after a recent stay there, i was surprised to find a peculiar anomaly in a photo i took. I was trying to capture the light of the vanity mirror in the bathroom and if you look in the bottom right there's a ghostly impression of what looks like a finger on my throat. Mind you, there was absolutely no way i could have mistakenly captured my own hand, given the camera angle.

Happy New Year everyone!!
I hope the new year brings the best for everyone. I spent mine in Quebec City. It was absolutely refreshing to step away from the craziness of New York, although i couldn't wait to get back. I feel completely rejuvenated being away from email, work email, and my iphone. It was really odd to not have GPS, text messaging, Email, Voice mail, and VERY odd to get inquisitive people asking me what this strange device i had in my hand. Given the importance of voting this election cycle, and wanting to ensure that i was well versed in the procedure involved with the process, i made a little trip to the NYC board of elections site. I was quite baffled to find out how incredibly difficult this voting process is, take a look at this gem of a video i found on the site. Watch this video.
Someone should seriously take a look at how ballots are casted and streamline this clunky process. I'm hoping to see a newer machine, than the one in the video above, in my voting booth tomorrow morning.

I got a chance to catch M. Ward & Zooey Deschanel perform as She & Him @ Webster Hall. I was apprehensive about the sound quality at Webster Hall, but it was actually acoustically sound for She & Him.
This show ends my concert binge, for now atleast ;).

Tokyo Police Club

I spent last sunday night at the Bowery Ballroom, which is perhaps my most favourite music venue in NYC. Tokyo Police Club was stellar as always, but i was more blown away by this band Smoosh. The band consists of two sisters, 15 and 17. (YES! they are super young) I was pretty floored by their flawless live performance, and the drummer's got amazing chops. The last drummer i watched with such admiration was Stewart Copeland.

the Standard was my home for last week in LA. Management was gracious enough to give me an upgrade on my room, which i found out shortly was a smoking room. I got the nice concierge on the phone who told me proudly, 'YES! We do have smoking rooms here, its because the Standard is one of the last party hotels left in LA.'
